This little girl’s bedroom is part of a rental home makeover. While not a horrible space, the powerful lavender palette and matching paisley blind set the tone for the room. Now usually the paintbrush would be out in a flash during a makeover, however knowing the client’s exit date here we resisted and worked with what we had.
Given the strong colour palette, our best approach was to furnish the room with pieces in our preferred colour tones to offset the dominant colour. For this little girl’s room the plan was to bring in lots of whites and creams, as well as using wood and wicker accents to add more texture and warmth to the space. We also wanted to add in elements of black and/or grey to create a more modern, timeless feeling.
