For this city based apartment our client was after a sleek modernity that reflected the apartment’s urban location. Since the outdated interiors required a full gut renovation, we created a multi-functional living space, including an open plan kitchen, dining area, living room and additional sleeping area.
We set the tone with industrial style screed flooring and from there worked with differing shades of grey within the open plan space, to establish the different functional zones and create areas of visual interest. The kitchen is dark and dramatic with black lower cabinetry and a dark mosaic backsplash. The dining area is soft and soothing with a falling leaf pattern wallpaper in a light grey finish.
Using this tonal colour palette created a cohesiveness within the open plan space, and also made it user friendly against wear and tear often associated with multiple guests in an AirBnB apartment.
