5 EASY DECOR UPDATES TO REFRESH YOUR HOME

It is always on Mondays after a flurry of a weekend that I feel the need to refresh and to pull the house together. The more hectic the previous week and weekend have been, the more I have the urge for a cleaning deep dive, to really purge and organise myself for the week ahead.

Whether you’ve been feeling a little bleh this Monday, or whether you are motivated and ready to transform a few spaces in your home, these five easy decor updates will help revitalise the look and feel of your home. Even better – they are very achievable, giving you the satisfaction of being able to tick them off your list.

Swap Out Your Seat

Five Easy Refresh Ideas

Of course starting the week in your office, ready to be productive and smash all your deadlines is a no brainer. The basics include a desk top and drawer clean up, sorting through a paperwork and giving the space a proper wipe down, following by creating a comprehensive to do list, which frees up your brain and allows you to prioritise which tasks to finish first.

Having comfortable (and stylish) seating is essential for a productive work day. Upgrading your desk chair is any easy and effective way to refresh your office. Being comfortable at your desk will certainly give you a new lease on your working life, as well as a new persepctive.

My  preference is for a backless stool, and I use the Chessy from Ergoform. The weighted base and ergonomic shape It allows me to rock a little on the chair, but still ensures I sit upright and don’t end up slouching in my seat all day.

If (when) I work late in the evenings, then I swap the stool for a chair with a back, so I can lean back and put my feet up while working. After all, it is then a long day in office.

Since we prefer desk chairs without wheels, we often use dining chairs for office desk chairs. These are a few with and without wheels perfect for your office refresh.

If there is one simple switch that completely transforms the mood and ambiance of a setting, it is lighting. Whether it’s a taller floor lamp or updating the light on your ceiling, a new fixture updates the style of your space and brings in new ambiance in the evening.

In your office, choose a task light to compliments the style of your office, provides good lighting for your work station and creates a welcoming ambiance for those dark and moody days. Bonus points for a task light that is rechargeable to get you through those load shedding hours too. Task Lights

When it comes to relaxing after a busy day, and whether your living room is a private space or part of an open plan arrangement, a little refresh in this much loved space will go a long way. First steps is always a simply tidy and pack away, which in itself can be transforming.

A simple change in layout is a great way to refresh your space. While you’re at it, why not dedicate a corner of the room to yourself.  The ultimate luxury in life is some downtime to recharge and promote self care. Whether this new zone is a reading corner, a spot for your morning coffee or simply somewhere to sit and scroll through your phone, its an easy way to elevate a dead space in your house and can be integrated into pretty much any room in your home.

What you need is a beautify and comfortable chair, a foot stool and a side table. The ideal piece is compact enough to fit in smaller spaces, but spacious enough that it has the comfort of an armchair.

While simplicity is our preferred style, consider whether you need any additional storage underneath, or just a simple top to hold a few key items. The milk stool is one of the most flexible side table options, as not only are they light and easy to move around, but their simple style means they can blend into any setting and easy to tuck away when not in used.

It is a relatively affordable and easy way to change the feeling and look of your bedroom, while the welcoming comfort of new sheets is a real luxury. Take the plunge and give your bed linen a style refresh. Fresh, clean sheets are one of life’s simple pleasures. It is bound to boost your mood in the morning!
