5 EASY WAYS TO SPRUCE UP YOUR HOME BEFORE CHRISTMAS

5 Easy Ways to Spruce Up Your Home Before Christmas

These last few days before annual shutdown is ever so slightly manic for anyone working in construction and design, as renovation projects need to close and homeowners want to move into their homes before the week is up.

We also find that during December people are suddenly interested in getting to all those home updates that they have been putting off during the year. While we know there are many things that are just not going to be possible at this time of year, these are five easy ways for you to spruce up your home before Christmas.

Fresh Coat Of Paint

There is nothing like a fresh coat of paint to make a room feel like new. If you don’t have the capacity for a whole room, consider refreshing high traffic areas like hallways and kitchens.

For those of you looking for a new contemporary look, our favourite go to white colours is Midas Almost There. It works in nearly any space.

Tidy Up And Re-Arrange

Before bringing something new to a space, we always advise our clients to first take away.

Removing any excess and unnecessary items in space, followed by a good old fashioned tidy up will make the space in question look so much better! Not only will this #spark a little joy for yourself and give you a small sense of accomplishment, but the space in question will look so much better.

A good de-clutter really does do wonders for a space. Then it’s time to play!

My kids are always complaining that I am moving things around, and it’s because rearranging your room and decor objects really does give a room a whole new feeling. Even better – it costs nothing!

Swap Out Door Handles And Knobs

When it comes to a quick and easy update that makes a big difference to the look and style of your space, swapping out cabinet and door handles is right at the top. They can easily be changed in a few hours, yet they go a long way to transforming the appearance and feeling of a room.

Replacing outdated versions with new and contemporary options. Use black or brass handles to add contrast, or matt stainless steel for a contemporary look.

Let There Be Light

Fixing outdated lighting can make or break a room’s design and mood, and simply swapping out light fixtures can breathe new light into your home.

Contemporary fixtures add sophistication, while strategically placed lights highlight architectural features. If you want to add some flair to your home,  there is always a range of lighting options available to suit your budget.

Hang  a new pendant over your dining table or finally update those bedside lights to elevate your style.

The Finishing Touches

It is the small little details make all the difference in your home, and often the last to be considered and updated. Are you hand towels looking worn out? How about some fresh hand wash and a new plant or bunch of flowers in the bathroom? We suggest you work through each room in the house and pick two items that need some TLC or replacing. Updating these smaller items won’t break the bank, but you will get a true sense of pleasure when enjoying these small updates.
