APRIL MOOD | MAKE THE BEST OF YOUR BUDGET

The Home Studio Blog

There’s nothing like some downtime for the opportunity to take stock of life and reflect on what truly fulfils you. All it takes is a few days out of the office – and since my office is in my home, this means that I do need to actively leave the house and go away for a mini break to truly get that out of office feeling going on.

It is during these days that I have the opportunity to savour the small moments, the long lunches with wine, cheese and dessert, the garden with the beautiful flowers, the sound of the kids playing and laughing and exploring new places and finding new things that you charm you, or give you a little jolt of bright-eyed wonder. It’s true that often my senses are attuned to these moments when I travel, but when you think about it, “the good life” is more about finding joy and adventure in our actual life at home (yes, even on Tuesdays after a long weekend).

Home is our shared starting point, our common ground, where those of us lucky enough to have a roof over heads can dream about our futures, nourish our bodies and connect with loved ones. Inevitably as you let your mind wander you will probably spend time considering the changes you are looking to make to your home.

When it comes to your home and interior design, one of the biggest myths we hear again and again is that good looking design has to cost a fortune. We have said this before – interior design isn’t always about going from nothing to something incredible. Most of the time it is about working with and upgrading the space you already have. Refreshing your space to a finished product that is better than you could even imagine. Intentionally selecting each item in your home with care, will add character and meaning to your space. It should also complement your personality and lifestyle, providing you with an environment where you can feel comfortable and authentically you.

We know that whether you are consciously making over a space in your home, or if you are embarking on a larger renovation project, budgets are always stretched thin – regardless of their size.

If you have been following along with us for a while, then you will know that at The home Studio we are all about making interior design affordable and approachable, and hand-in-hand with that comes implementing cost-effective interior design solutions into our projects. We believe that it is totally possible to achieve those “designed” interior styles and looks that you see on Instagram, Pinterest and many of your favourite design magazines, without breaking your budget.

This month on the blog we’ll be sharing our best cost saving design tips and budget design inspiration, our favourite mix of High and Low, all the while focussing on how to make your budget work for you.
