Hello from my office to yours – whatever that may look like at the moment.
This month our goal on the blog (now more than ever) is to help you find comfort and inspiration in your home. We’re hoping to bring you ideas to transport you, and stylish strategies you can implement at home on your own time. To let you know how something as simple as rearranging a living room can alter the way your family’s dynamic works in your home.
Since we are now spending all our time at home, it is only naturally that we are relearning the importance of our homes and how our immediate surroundings affect us

When it comes to refreshing your home, just remember that interior design isn’t always about going from nothing to something incredible. Sometimes it’s about levelling up the space you already have. We’re here to help you refresh your space to a finished product that’s better than you could even imagine. When you intentionally select and place each item in your home with care, it adds character and meaning to your space, that in turn allows you to live a more meaningful life.
We’re also going to try and help you navigate the new realities of working from home, and for some of us that also includes full time parenting along with our daily workload.
Many of us have set up makeshift offices for the foreseeable future, me included. While I do usually work from home, my home office is a separate working space upstairs off the back of where we live. At the moment I have half decamped to my dining room table to be able to (kindof) keep an eye on things. I’m at home with my two kids (almost 2 and 4 years old) and on video calls throughout the day with my team or with clients. The #jugglestruggle is real.

On the plus side, I’ve noticed a few things during this ‘downtime’ situation that goes beyond just our surroundings. Firstly dinner time is taking on a whole new meaning. Instead of being a rushed affair after work and before bath time, I now have a more time to hang with the kids, and a little more time to think about what to prepare for dinner, rather than opening the fridge and grabbing the first thing that I see.
I’ve also noticed how my four year old is a most willing helper, and I’m really trying to encourage it! Even though most of the time the #OCD in me just wants to redo whatever she has done, I’m trying to hold to hold back. To be supportive of the streaks on the windows she has just washed.
Since staying in is the new going out, our team at The Home Studio is also taking time to reflect on the little things that make life so beautiful. Whether it is sipping a drink or listening to a relaxing tune in the comfort of your home.
As always, we are delighted you’re following along.
