HOW TO LAYER YOUR BED

Bedroom Layering Tips

The bed is the focal point of any bedroom and it is all about creating a cosy atmosphere that makes leaving the bed irresistible. Perfect timing for this weather!

Start with the best quality bed linen you can afford. It’s not only about the bed looking good, it’s about ensuring a quality night sleep. Cotton, high thread-count bed linen will get you the crisp, clean, hotel bed look.

Whether or not you dress your bed with a headboard first, good pillow layering starts with a pair of King Pillows as a strong back layer. Then we bring in a pair of standard pillows as the front layer. If you want to mix and match colours on your bed linen, the king pillows can match your sheet and the standard pillows can match the duvet cover.

How to Layer Your Bed

People either love them or hate them. While we say scatter cushions are entirely optional, you are not likely to get your bed looking completely “finished” or stylish without them.

How many you ask? One large bolster always works well on its own. On smaller double beds a single large scatter in front of each set of pillows is a great option. On larger beds a set of three pillows is great for eliminating gaps between the pillows, and a lovely way to bring the full bedroom design together.

When it comes to adding throws and blankets onto the bed, it’s all about creating soft, textural layering. Loosely draped across the bottom third of the mattress is where we find strikes a balance between structured styling and laid-back décor Layering your bead with a throw is also an opportunity to introduce colour and texture to your bedroom.
