THE CLASSIC WOOD + WHITE OUTDOOR LOOK

Perfect Pairs Outdoor Dining Tables and Chairs

The weather in Cape Town these last few days is everything that I live for! I love evenings where I can sit outside and watch the mountain change as the sun sets behind it.

In the office we’re getting lots of requests on outdoor spaces, so we figured that the good weather has been motivating many of you to tackle your list of outdoor updates.

We understand these things take time (and money), as well as a lot of thoughtful consideration. Decision paralysis is real as people try to consider whether they will still like choices they make now in 1, 2 or even 5 years time.

In the past we have talked about a few tried and tested outdoor looks that we continue to stand by. Outdoor furniture doesn’t come cheap, and selecting just a few pieces can easily burn through your overall budge, so its very important to first decide on the overall look and feel you want to create in your space.

You also need to select pieces durable enough for your setting. Is the space completely exposed to the weather, or is it partially or fully covered? Will you need to cover the furniture and bring cushions in on a daily basis, and can you just leave them out there throughout the summer and only need to pack them away during the winter months? For many people unpacking and packing away their outdoor space on a daily basis is just too much admin, and they’d rather go with hardy pieces that either whether well or will withstand the elements.

While I do believe that an outdoor setting is a great place to have some fun and bring in colour and pattern, given the cost of furnishing an outdoor space it’s wise to create for yourself a timeless and neutral base that you can easily accessorise and update over the years.

Nothing says “absolutely classic” quite like a wood and white base. From here you can add those hot pink scatter cushions, or bring in the blue stripe umbrella you have been eyeing out. It is easy to let your let your inner maximalist out and completely alter the look of the space with the right foundation.
