Florals. For Spring. Groundbreaking.
This infamous line from The Devil Wears Prada makes me laugh every time. Mostly because it gets used on me by my millennial, on trend, younger sister when I catch onto a trend WAY behind the curve (so you know, pretty much when I talk about anything and everything!)
In the interior design world a new season always brings about much talk of the opportunity to refresh spaces and make necessary updates, and we know that spring in particular ushers in much talk on blooms, flowers, and florals..
It’s good to know though that no matter how classic, florals CAN still be groundbreaking. Whether it’s a feminine form, a soft transition between colours, a pattern reminiscent of petals, or a new take on an old classic, these are a few of our favourite takes on the classic floral theme that push the boundaries, but still get us in the spring swing of things.
The Florist
Remember the days when flowers were limited to a single bloom in a glass vase on your table? Bringing greenery and nature into restaurant design has come a long way over the last few years, with statement making greenery practically required these days. The trend has mostly centred around leafy green options, which are considered easier to maintain,
This UK based restaurant has taken the concept one step further by incorporating large, pink blossoming trees into their space.
“The Florist believes in the fundamental principles of floristry, to charm each of the senses.” Their ethos starts from the moment you walk in, as your visual senses go into immediate overdrive, right the way through to custom cocktails and menu organised according to the three key styles of floristry.

Unique Vases
While the days of a classic glass vase filled with greenery or blooms are not entirely gone, over here at The Home Studio we are embracing the rise of unique and interesting vases.
They add instant flair and refinement, and are a simple way to put an artful spin on your home – with or without flowers. From colourful glass shapes to handmade ceramics and trending human shapes, there are endless options to choose from.
It’s pretty much guaranteed that the more unusual your vase, the more stylish you’re considered.

Ellie Cashman Wallpaper
It was circa 2018 that Ellie Cashman popped up on our radar with her signature floral prints and dark floral wallpaper. The dramatic, large-scale floral wallpaper is inspired by the still love of paintings of the Dutch Golden age. Majestic, ethereal blooms cascade down a dark, shadowy background.
Like much of the design world, we were instantly hooked. So many floral options have sprung up over the years, making oversized and dramatic wallpaper very popular, with no sign of it slowing down.
