Let’s talk about one our new bedroom design favourites – the bedroom ledge.
Ledges behind the bed are being used more and more as an alternative to the more traditional headboard, or even bedside tables.
We love this design concept because it provides a seamless storage and display element without taking up too much precious floor space. We especially love these ledges when cladded in wooden panelling and painted the same colour as the wall above.
In this project by BuildHer Collective, the simple ledge is taken up a notch with a fluted panel design, which we are quite literally swooning over. It runs the length of the wall in one of bedrooms and even extends along adjacent walls and around corners in the second bedroom. It is then topped with marble to really take it to the next level.
The bedroom ledge is the perfect combination of decorative and functional and could work in most bedrooms as opposed to a headboard.
Merricks Guest House by Studio Esteta features a bedroom ledge that has been cladded in the same wood plank as the floor providing a seamless flow from one surface to the other. Gorgeous!
