TREND SPOTTING 2019

1 | 2

While we still have two very busy months ahead of us in 2018, we’re already thinking ahead of the game for current and upcoming client projects. Get ready to embrace curved furnishings, scalloped edges, geometric + tribal patterns, terrazzo and statement ceilings. Here’s what we see on the horizon style-wise…

1. CURVED FURNISHINGS

If there is one thing we have noticed it’s that curves are everywhere. You’ll see see this in long curved sofas, rounded chairs and oval tables. It’s all about the organic shapes.

2. TERRAZZO

Making an interesting alternative to concrete and marble, terrazzo has become increasingly popular in the past year or so as a floor, wall or countertop surface. Because of its versatility and wide variety of colours and textures, it seems terrazzo is here to stay.

3. GEOMETRIC PATTERNS

Culturally-inspired and geometric patterns are still going strong into 2019. We’re seeing a lot more loose, over-scaled and asymmetrical shapes.

4. MATTE BLACK

Although matte black has been popular for a while now, we’re seeing its popularity on the rise – especially in the creation of dark kitchens. The matte finish adds to the warmth and sophistication and the applications are endless. From accent walls, cabinetry, appliances, furniture, homeware, tiles, taps… matte black is being seen everywhere and we LOVE it.

5. GOLD

This popular material is going from strength to strength. When used in moderation, gold or brass elements bring an added level of refinement and sophistication to your interiors. We find it particularly effective when working alongside wood materials.

6. STATEMENT CEILINGS

We feel statement ceilings are going to big in 2019. A new take on the statement wall, we love the effect created when entering the room. This also allows us to keep a clear and minimal approach to the walls, creating a whole new visual conversation.

6. ALL THINGS NUDE

For the past few years grey has dominated as the go-to Colour for neutral interiors. But as we’ve seen recently sandy, earthy shades are back – and the barely there, warm natural vibes are anything bu boring!Trend Spotting 2019
