The conceptualising of two totally gutted bathrooms was made easier by the fact that the client’s had quite a few absolute certainties, the main one of which was the fact the one bathroom would have a shower only and the other bathroom, due to space constraints, would need to have a combined bath and shower. The other certainty was that they wanted all tapware and finishings to be matt black, to compliment that style of the house overall.
We proposed using a feature tile on one wall of each bathroom like the textured subway tiles below. A vertical stack orientation would give the space a refreshingly modern look whilst being fairly unexpected and restrained.
The client’s wanted to carry the overall colour palette of beige, grey and whites with black accents through from the rest of the home into the bathroom space, without it looking dated (remember this post?). In the end, we felt that with matt black tapware and accessories, oak vanities and a combination of tiled and painted walls, these two bathrooms would have just the right amount of contemporary style, warmth and functionality.
Join us tomorrow for the full reveal of these two bathrooms…
