Hello, Good Morning, Welcome Back!
We are all about a slow start to January. I’m sure many of you are too. At this time of year, I bet many of us are leaning one of two ways…. either we are raring to go and energised for the year ahead, or we are still feeling the sand in our toes and dreaming of the summer holidays. (Either way, I put money on all of us counting down to school going back!)
This Monday morning we are easing into the 2020 working year with a simple breakfast at a table set with beautiful basics. A simple reminder to ourselves that the everyday items we choose to surround ourselves with, should not only be timeless and long lasting, but uplifting and inspiring, as they set the tone for the day ahead.
While our vision for 2020 is still rather undefined, there are many thoughts, ideas, goals and dreams being tossed around the drawing board.
One ideal is to tread as lightly as possible. Our whole team is trying to make a more conscious effort to ensuring a sustainable consideration to all our design projects. This could include using more sustainable materials, locally made furniture or simply re-using, upcycling and incorporating more second-hand and vintage pieces where possible.
One a personal note, as a traveller I’m all too aware of the carbon footprint I leave behind – a current unavoidable evil that comes with exploring the world. This year the goal is to change this by including a lot more local travel into my travel plans.
With two young girls in tow, over the last couple of years weekend breaks have always seemed more hard work than they were worth. However as we slowly start to move out of that fog, watch this space as our blog includes more local travel showcasing beautiful. hotels and homes throughout our country.
