This budget bedroom paint makeover has big budget results! The home belongs to Katerina Dima of Only Deco Love. Katerina was looking to add warmth and architectural style to her all white bedroom – all on a very small budget.
THE BEFORE STORY
When Katerina moved into her beautiful old apartment the owner had painted the entire place white, which is ideal for most of us and a wonderful neutral palette to work from. While Katerina is a lover of very minimal design and clean spaces, she loves them to feel welcoming and warm too. With her bedroom no matter how she styled the room, it always felt unfinished. The solution was paint!
Katerina decided to offset the grey-blue floors with a beige tone where the results would be warm. The addition of the architectural detail through seemingly large skirting boards is to designed to add layers of interest to the space.
However to really stretch her budget Katerina simply added a small board 30cm above the current skirting and then painted the whole section the same colour to give the illusion of a large skirting panel.
AFTER
The walls were painted in a light beige/ grey colour, with a white ribbon left along the top to match the ceiling and extend the height of the walls. The window frames and skirting were painted in a darker beige for layers and warmth.
