It’s almost as though winter has returned here in Cape Town. So it feels a little wrong that we’ve been spending our time looking through Haldane Martin’s outdoor furniture collection.
As we plan a few alfresco updates, the new Cha-Cha occasional tables and Hula outdoor chairs are getting us into full summer outdoor entertaining mode – even if only theoretically today.
These collections come in a range of sizes and playful colours which look great as stand-alone pieces and even better when mixed and matched, forming contemporary and customisable combinations. We are a little bit in love with the pastel turquoise and ocean blue options!
The Cha-Cha table is made up a steel-rod base, which gives the illusion of movement, paired with a simplistic laser-cut tabletop. Its simplicity and durability make this table a perfectly versatile outdoor furniture piece. The Cha-Cha full set comprises of five tables of varying diameters and heights.
The Hula Collection was inspired by the nostalgic 1950s Salterini hoop chairs we can probably all remember from our granny’s garden set. Martin’s contemporary take on this classic chair includes parallel lines within the circular ring, reminiscent of the “Hula Hoop”, giving the chair a modern and clean look.
The range consists of dining and lounge chairs, bar and kitchen stools, love seats and stacking stools and are made of rust-proof stainless steel, available in 12 fun colours. They are also available with optional UV stable fabric cushioning.
