Our home tour today features a residence in the Cape Point Nature Reserve which is made almost entirely of plywood.
Designed by Beatty Vermeiren Architects as a campsite home, the plywood-clad interior walls serve as the “tent” and the exterior metal cladding serves as the “weather sheet”.
As one would expect from a home based in a nature reserve, sustainable materials were used in its design and solar energy panels, rainwater collection systems and grey water irrigation are all place. The homes distinctive features are found in the plumbing pipes, plywood and roof sheeting.
