We’re kicking off TRAVEL TUESDAY by visiting Untied restaurant and bar in Sydney, Australia. Designed by Melbourne based Technē Architecture + Interior Design, the brief was to create a space that was refined and sophisticated while retaining a casual friendliness. The space is spilt into two zones, a more casual outdoor bar and a refined dining space internally.
The interior needed to amplify and harmonise with Untied’s menu, which is a fresh-focused spectrum of contemporary Australian cuisine. Rich interior features comprising timber floorboards, black marble mosaic and framed mirrors add a sense of moodiness to the dining space.
Exuberant graphic wallpaper punctuates the largely monochromatic palette, drawing on the venue’s tropical inspiration without being too literal in its interpretation. An abundance of greenery throughout echoes Queensland’s verdant natural landscape.
As is classic of the Aussie culture, Untied Rooftop doesn’t take itself too seriously, oozing the laid back North Queensland vibes, while still telling a story of sophistication and quality.
