What can you do with a fresh coat of paint and a tight budget? A lot! This bedroom belongs to a 15 year-old girl and while the bones of the room were there, the space lacked style and personality. Enter Tarina Lyell from Oh.Eight.Oh.Nine.
BEFORE
Creating a mature, yet feminine space for a teenager was achieved through several elements. An upholstered bed always elevates a space and the grey colour is classic and timeless. Introducing furniture pieces in a wood and white mid century style, rather than using ‘typical’ all white kids block furniture, immediately adds a level of sophistication to the space. The wood elements in the furniture also bring in more texture and warmth to the space.
Using a pastel colour scheme keeps the room feminine, but shying away from all pink / blush prevents the space from becoming too girly or sickly sweet. In short, the results are stunning and my 15-year old self is completely jealous!
