If you are after small space living with serious style, then look no further than Tuynhuys, Cape Town’s striking apartment building designed by Robert Silke & Partner.
At just 25 m², these small apartments make a big statement, thanks to the remarkable Art Deco architecture and bright white facade.
The architects believe that Tuynhuys proves that innovative modern high-rises are possible (and desirable) in even the most sensitive historic locations. “We wanted to create something that was responsive and respectful to the current environment and was at least as beautiful as the properties which surrounded it.”
Even the penthouse suites are not large by penthouse standards, coming in at 82 m².
Smart design, with plenty of integrated storage and appliances work with the strong curves and and organic shapes of the building. These two apartments highlight how the final furnishings in a space determine the final personality of a home.
