THE CONSOLE SOFA DESK

The Console Sofa Desk

Creating the perfect Work-From-Home arrangement is a hot topic these days, and while we fully embrace the WFH lifestyle, not everyone has the opportunity to create separate home office in their space. In our experience, sitting on the bed or sofa (or worse, the floor) for hours on end is not very conducive to a productive working day.

While we’ve discussed the chic Cloffice solution, or given pointers on different WFH setups, all of these pointers are really aimed at those with room to spare.

What happens if you live in a studio or one-bedroom apartment? You are going to have to get creative utilising your space to bring an office into the living room. Say hello to the Console Sofa Desk.

Consoles are commonly seen in entrance spaces and behind sofas, especially when the back of the sofa is facing a circulation space, or dividing two functions in a larger space. At the moment your console is likely to be holding a lamp, a pile of books, probably a plant  and a decorative object or two. While we assume this is looking so great in your home, it could in fact be doubling up as your new WFH office desk.

All you would need to do is clear the surface and pull up a chair!

This studio apartment used a white colour palette to keep the space feeling open and cohesive, and brought in the great space saving move of a console sofa desk.

This small, but striking apartment, has embraced the console sofa desk with a design that compliments the monochrome interiors of the space. A plush pink chair finishes off the #girlboss setting.
